On October 7th, the NYC Hospitality Alliance celebrated its 7th Anniversary representing and serving restaurant and nightlife establishments throughout the five boroughs at the chic Ascent Lounge.
Overlooking the Columbus Circle city lights, 250+ restaurateurs, nightlife pros, leading product and service providers, and elected officials gathered to raise their glasses to seven years of our advocacy on behalf of the industry.
Our guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening with unique activations and offerings from our sponsors Imperial Dade, Seated, Rodney Strong Vineyards and Asahi Beer. After I took the mic to thank everyone for their continued support, The Alliance’s president, Melba Wilson of Melba’s Restaurant brought her electric energy to get the crowd excited for what was to come.
NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Senators Brad Hoylman and Brian Benjamin, Assemblymember Steven Cymbrowitz, Councilmembers Carlina Rivera, Rafael Espinal, Ben Kallos, NYC’s Office of Nightlife’s Ariel Palitz and many more attended and spoke about the powerful impact the NYC Hospitality Alliance has made over the past seven years and our contributions to the small business community.
After the event, I kept thinking about all we’ve accomplished over the past seven years, much of which I’ve written about in my monthly column here in Total Food Service, while thinking deeply about all the opportunities and challenges that await us now and in the future.
After the celebration, I was more energized than ever, knowing that when our industry unites under the umbrella of the NYC Hospitality Alliance, we have immense power to represent the industry in the halls of government, in the media, and we can ensure that our members have a place to turn to for support and guidance so they can stay on top of their game.
