Presenture LLC announced recently it is the national foodservice sales agency of record for Ivar’s Soup & Sauce Company. A Seattle institution, Ivar’s is a privately held company founded in 1938 by entrepreneur Ivar Haglund. In addition to operating well-known restaurants throughout the Northwest, Ivar’s produces top-quality soups, chowders and sauces in a stand-alone, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant.
In its new role, Presenture’s team of sales, marketing and support professionals will build and manage a national broker network for Ivar’s. The Ivar’s story began in 1938 when Haglund opened one of the city’s first aquariums on its waterfront, selling clam chowder and fish and chips alongside. Haglund quickly established a reputation through wacky promotional stunts: octopus wrestling, clam eating contests and walking around town with a seal in a stroller. All of these stunts helped establish the Ivar’s brand. Today, Ivar’s has three full-service restaurants in Washington state, locations in sports stadiums in Washington and dozens of quick-service fish bars in the Northwest.
Ivar’s Soup & Sauce Company launched its manufacturing plant in 1994 – building a new state-of-the-art plant in 2005 – for the purpose of providing the foodservice, club and retail channels with its iconic soups, chowders and sauces across the US, Canada and Mexico.
