In 1937 JRR Tolkien introduced us to Bilbo Baggins, a Middle Earth Hobbit and his diary titled, “There and Back Again”. On September 6th, we will introduce you to Alon Shaya, a highly lauded New Orleans based chef/owner of 4 successful restaurants. Both Bilbo and Alon went on a journey that led them far from home through many twists and turns. Both encountered a “Dark Lord” in their travels and eventually, like Bilbo, Alon came out better for his efforts.
Now, before we go any further, Alon is not 3’ tall with hair on the top of his feet, but like Bilbo, he has an incredibly interesting personal and culinary story to tell.
