Don’t get me wrong, there’s no Le Bernardin or Gramercy Tavern in Dobbs Ferry, Brooklyn or Westport. Yes, there will always be the draw of big city excitement, but now it seems that there are signs of creative culinary life, innovation, comfort and elegance outside the confines of the Hudson, Harlem and East Rivers. Yes, for a night out in the city, nothing beats Manhattan, but if you want to go to dinner with friends, you might want to think local! The “think local” movement started before the pandemic, but the work from home climate in business became the accelerator that has made going to “the city” a back burner thought to many.
