The newly opened True Food Kitchen at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY offered a “healthy hello” to frontline healthcare workers at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola on Tuesday, September 8th.
True Food Kitchen general manager Michael Thomas delivered 75 healthy meals for healthcare workers at NYU Winthrop thanking them for their service during the COVID pandemic.
The new healthy, flavor-forward restaurant opened its doors on September 1st after a five month delay due to COVID-19. With new health and safety protocols in place, the national concept opened its 34th location in the country and first in New York.
“We are honored to become part of the Long Island community and wanted to share a healthy hello to our neighbors at NYU Winthrop Hospital. Delivering meals to the frontline healthcare workers is our way of saying thank you for all you have been doing during this pandemic. True Food Kitchen’s flavor-forward menu is carefully crafted with each season to let guests experience produce at the peak of its freshness and flavor. A preview of fall menu items debuted on the opening menu including the Butternut Squash Pizza, Butternut Squash Soup and Squash Pie. The complete fall menu will make its debut on September 30. Look for new items such as: Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Charred Cauliflower, Lasagna Bolognese and the Seasonal Ingredient Salad with fall ingredients such as butternut squash, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cannellini bean, organic kale and toasted mulberry. Signature dishes such as Spaghetti Squash Casserole, Organic Tuscan Kale Salad, Ancient Grains Bowl and the Grass-Fed Burger remain on the menu year round and as always the menu caters to every food preference with an assortment of delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options and a kids menu.
As part of the late September menu launch, guests can also look forward to enjoying fall cocktails as the restaurant’s scratch bar debuts a seasonal lineup of fresh cocktails: The Cape with organic vodka, ginger liqueur, cranberry and lime; La Paloma with organic tequila, pamplemousse, Aleppo salt and honey; and The Herbalist with gin, orange, honey, chamomile and lemon. Look for natural fall refreshers and organic teas including Apple Lemonade, Cranberry Limeade and Sparkling Yerba Matte Tea.
True Food Kitchen in Garden City is now open Sunday – Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations for on-site dining are available through OpenTable, and the restaurant will accept walk-ins as well, maintaining social distancing through the waitlist process. Take out and delivery will be available for the full menu via online ordering. Special family meals for two, four or six will be available “to-go” including choice of starters, salads and entrees.
