The New York Jets have always taken great pride in the city they represent. From the variety of local food vendors, they have at MetLife stadium to the wonderful programs the Jets Foundation helps fund, the New York Jets are committed to New York City. On Thursday, May 18th the Jets Foundation will be hosting their annual Taste of The Jets Event.

Taste of The Jets will be an event where fans, media, and friends of the Jets can get together to celebrate the team, the city and the wonderful food this city has to offer. This years hosts will be Jets legend Bart Scott a long with current players Quincy Enunwa, Buster Skrine, and Muhammad Wilkerson. It doesn’t stop their either, as many other players are scheduled to appear including Robby Anderson, Kelvin Beachum, Juston Burris, Chandler Catanzaro, Josh Martin, Lorenzo Mauldin, Charone Peake, Dexter McDougle, Brandon Shell, Brian Winters, Wesley Johnson, Craig Watts, and Brent Qvale. In addition to these players the 2017 Rookie Class will be in attendance, along with the Flight Crew Cheerleaders.

Taste of the JetsThe real focus of this event is of course, the food. This year the New York Jets Foundation will host some of the most iconic New York City restaurants to showcase a dish of their choice. Restaurants in attendance will include Dizzy’s Club, DNC, Emma’s Ale House, Fascino, Gali, ICE, Lavo, Michaels, Nobu Fifty Seven, Osteria Morni, Printer’s Alley, Slamwich, Tao, Tavern on Jane, Sister Jane East Side Tavern, The Central Park Boathouse, The Wayfarer and the iconic Park Avenue Tavern.

While the food may be the main attraction it is only a part of the fun. Last year the Jets had a VR station, raffles, and player meet and greets, in addition to all the wonderful food of course. This year the Jets will be representing the U.S. military, with the Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy in addition to stations for attendees, the servicemen and women will be on stage participating in a cook off on stage with dishes judged by Quincy Enunwa, Buster Skrine, and Muhammad Wilkerson.

The New York Jets Foundation has always strived to create a long-standing, year-round commitment to the community. Which is why all proceeds will benefit the New York Jets Foundation to tackle hunger. The New York Jets Foundation funds a variety of positively influencing programs for young men and women in the tri-state area. The Jets Foundation is able to accomplish this by launching football teams, urging students to be active for 60 minutes a day, and fostering a positive school environment. The New York Jets Foundation invests in programs that make a difference in the lives of others. In addition to their focus on youth development, the Jets support the effort of the Lupus Research Alliance and numerous established charitable organization and causes sponsored by the NFL.
