If our incoming emails and phone calls are any indicators, it’s safe to say that COVID-19 doesn’t slow America’s sales and marketing professionals. My goodness, more people are selling more stuff now than ever before! The good news is each of us will need to buy more new goods and services for our businesses; most likely items that we never imagined we’d need. NY State offered a glimpse of the bad news, in desperation to buy essential goods and services, getting sold by an unqualified vendor.
Knowing our prior professional experiences, Total Food Service asked us to write a weekly column on crisis management. We immediately accepted not as well-practiced crisis management individuals but on behalf of the Day & Nite family of companies. Now in its 6th decade of operation and 2nd generation of (founding) family ownership, Day & Nite’s entire business is about supporting and servicing the hospitality industry. This industry has been as good to Day & Nite and all our past, present, and future employees. Thus, we have returned that goodness with consistently superb cost-efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial cooking, refrigeration, HVAC and plumbing equipment. The hospitality and restaurant industries have been under siege. The least we could do is offer our expertise and proven crisis management methodologies to our industry.
Everything covered in our previous five columns has been instituted, practiced, and dare we say it, perfected in our business. Indeed, everything you have read in this space isn’t just advice for you to follow; these are words and action items we live by at Day & Nite. All of it with a unified purpose: to step up for our industry; to do our part when we are most needed; and to stay one step ahead of where the market timing is.
