Rethink Events hosted the sold-out Future Food-Tech summit in New York this week with record numbers of delegates. This year’s summit featured the pick of the industry’s most innovative brands, entrepreneurs and investors with a focus on Breakthrough Technology & Investment Models for Tomorrow’s Food. Alongside a packed program of interactive panels and technology pitching sessions, hundreds of 1:1 meetings took place between delegates and potential partners/clients.
“ Future Food-Tech takes a visionary look at the future of food, including plant-based proteins, the convergence of food with health/medicine and the role of digital solutions such as blockchain in creating a safe, transparent food system,” says Jennie Moss, Founder & Managing Director, Rethink Events. “Our mission is to accelerate the development of foods that are nutritious, delicious, affordable and accessible to all.”
With an expert panel of speakers, including David Lee of Impossible Foods, Mary Kay James of Tyson New Ventures and Chef Brad Farmerie of Saxon + Parole, the sessions sparked exciting debate around the opportunities and obstacles to transforming our global food system through technology.
The summit also saw 10 early-stage food technology start-ups take to the stage to pitch a seven-minute snapshot of their solution to VC investors. The Technology Showcase line-up included; Apeel Sciences, Bringg, Cudd’Up, GEA Enzymes, Genius Foods, GoParrot, ImpactVision, Mycrobiomics, NotCo and ripe.io.
“Future Food-Tech was an extremely productive place for Mycrobiomics to announce the launch of our beta product and start discussions with dozens of potential partners,” says George Cigale, Co-Founder & CEO, Mycrobiomics. “It was a productive conference, with a dozen potential partners approaching us to see how they could partner with Mycrobiomics.”
Following the great success of Future Food-Tech New York, Rethink Events is returning to London with its sister summit on October 18-19 which is set to host its biggest delegation yet.
