Celebrity chef Anne Burrell, renowned for her dynamic presence on the Food Network’s Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and Worst Cooks in America, is set to host Dan’s Chefs of the Hamptons 2024.
This event, taking place on (THIS) Thursday, July 18th, in East Hampton, will showcase some of the nation’s finest culinary talents.
Her journey to this high-profile role as this week’s host is a testament to her extensive experience and passion for the culinary arts and the people in the industry. “I am absolutely thrilled to be able to promote The wonderful food and culinary talent of the Hamptons, Burrell noted.
Burrell’s culinary career has been marked by a series of notable achievements and transformations. Her journey began with appearances on “Iron Chef” and “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” and included competing on “Chopped All-Stars” and hosting “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.”
As with so many who have found success in the restaurant and foodservice field, there was infact that pivotal moment.
“The day that I faxed my resume answering an ad in The New York Times, I didn’t know where I was faxing my resume to and it ended up going to a celebrity chef who became an Iron Chef. And that’s how I got on the Food Network,” she explained.
“One of those crazy things, like, who knew that answering an ad in The New York Times would be such a pivotal moment in my life.”
Burrell’s love for the Hamptons is evident as she talks about her favorite spots. “I love, love, love Bostwick’s and Duryea’s in Montauk — heaven!” she enthused.
The Hamptons hold a special place in her heart, and she is excited to share her culinary expertise in such a vibrant setting.
As she prepares to host the upcoming event, Chef Anne Burrell is enthusiastic about the summer ingredients that define her cooking. “Tomatoes, all the stone fruits, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, all the amazing fresh herbs you can get at farmer’s markets.
It’s almost too easy to cook in the summer because there’s such an abundance of deliciousness,” she shared. Her favorite summer dish? “I love pasta with shrimp, zucchini, and lemon. I also love corn! So delicious, yummy salads with tomatoes! Corn! I love it all.”
When she’s not in the kitchen or on TV, Burrell enjoys a mix of beach and pool time. “I’m a ‘both’ person. I love to swim in the ocean, but I do love to sit by a pool and take dips. I like it all.”
In addition to her culinary endeavors, Burrell recently launched a new dining spot at Citi Field. “It’s called Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats and it’s located at section 101. I am a huge sports fan, so to be included with such an iconic New York team and to be able to provide delicious eats for the fans is truly an honor.”
Looking ahead to Dan’s Chefs of the Hamptons, Burrell is excited about the event and the opportunity to engage with the vibrant community.
“I love Main Beach; the most beautiful water and gorgeous evenings! Summer in the Hamptons is such a fun and special time, I really appreciate all the places to go, all the people to meet. It’s such a joyous time of year!”
