Tropical Smoothie Cafe partners with FoodLogiQ to implement food traceability


Tropical Smoothie Cafe, the leading fast casual cafe concept known for its better-for-you food and smoothies with a tropical twist, announced today the selection of FoodLogiQ, the leading food safety, traceability and sustainability Software as a Service company, to assist with the chain's food safety and traceability initiatives.

Using FoodLogiQ's Connect platform, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be able to track all food and beverage items being served in its nearly 435 locations, from the fresh kale in the Island Green Smoothie to the all natural grilled chicken in the Chipotle Chicken Club Flatbread. Tracing from their suppliers all the way to the cafe allows Tropical Smoothie Cafe to keep track of each and every product being served, while enabling each location to act quickly if an issue comes up with product quality or safety.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe joins the ranks of FoodLogiQ customers that include Whole Foods, Chipotle, Subway, Robinson Fresh, the National Potato Council, and Golden State Foods among others. Tropical Smoothie Cafe currently has nearly 170 cafes under development and slated to open in the next two years. In the second quarter, the brand opened more than a dozen locations in Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Michigan, Oklahoma and Nevada, among others.
